At the NQC meeting of 13 December 2007, NQC members agreed to a live trial of the Excellence Criteria and supporting infrastructure and processes during the first half of 2008 in fifteen RTOs, comprising five small, five medium and five large.  This component of AQTF 2007 is voluntary and designed to recognise high quality training and assessment delivery, and to encourage the continuing development of high RTO performance.

Details of the Expression of Interest process and supporting documents are available at www.training.com.au/aqtf2007 .  An AQTF 2007 Excellence Criteria Readiness Checklist is also provided to assist interested RTOs to make an assessment about whether they are ready to make an application to be part of the Trial.

Participating RTOs will take part in the full external evaluation process and will be eligible to receive formal recognition of their level of performance.  It is anticipated that the Excellence Criteria will be available for use by all RTOs in the second half of 2008.
