Interim QA process for Training Package support material

21st Century Training LogoAn interim quality assurance process for Training Package support material has been designed to replace the former NQC noting process. A trial of the interim process begins in January 2010.

The interim QA process will align resources more closely to units of competency in Training Packages and associated assessment requirements by trailing the follow proposed changes:

The tick logo used in the previous noting process will continue to be used for the purpose of the trial.

The trial will be open to participants ranging from private and public product developers. Prospective product developers wishing to participate in the trial are welcome and should contact the process administrator.

What are Training Package support materials?

Training Package support materials are training and assessment resources that support delivery of endorsed Training Package. These resources are strategies and tools used by trainers and learners and include text books, guides, CD/Videos, online flexible delivery, printed and other media types that support teaching, learning and assessment.

How does the interim Quality Assurance process work?

  1. To commence the process, the product developer engages a participating panel member of their choice by completing a Request for QA Form.
  2. The product developer provides the panel member the request for QA form along with an electronic copy of product/s for evaluation.
  3. The panel member will consider the request and evaluate the submitted product/s against the Quality Principles.
  4. The panel member completes and forwards the Evaluation Form to the developer and the administrator for further processing.
  5. TVET will arrange for the quality assured products to be listed on training.com and authorises the developer to apply the interim tick logo to the product.
