Quality Standing Committee

Welcome to the Quality Standing Committee web page.

Overview

The Quality Standing Committee was established by the National Quality Council to give effect to the Council’s resolutions and provide strategic oversight and guidance to Working Groups and/or project contractors on projects in the NQC Work Plan which focus on quality within the national VET system.  This includes monitoring, review and implementation of the Australian Quality Training Framework. 

In relation to the AQTF 2007, the Standing Committee role includes:

  • providing leadership to the change management processes associated with AQTF 2007;
  • planning and monitoring to ensure that resources are adequate and appropriately targeted for successful implementation of the new arrangements; and
  • monitoring implementation and advising the NQC of performance and improvement issues.
From March 2008 to January 2009, the Standing Committee will:
  • Assist the Council to fulfill its responsibilities in relation to meeting COAG and MCVTE priorities and targets for the AQTF 2007 and related quality initiatives
  • Give effect to, and expedite Council resolutions in relation to the AQTF 2007 and related quality initiatives
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to project work, including contractual requirements
  • Establish, as necessary, and provide guidance to working groups set up to develop and trial components of the AQTF 2007 and related quality initiatives
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance at the national level to ensure national consistency in the implementation of, and transition to the AQTF 2007
  • Plan and monitor resources to ensure that resources are adequate and appropriately targeted for successful implementation of the AQTF 2007
  • Monitor implementation and transition to the AQTF 2007 and advise the NQC of performance and improvement issues.
