Training Packages Standing Committee

Overview
The National Quality Council established the Training Packages Standing Committee to give effect to the Council’s resolutions, provide advice on Training Package policy, and provide strategic oversight and guidance to working groups and project contractors on projects in the Training Packages key area of focus in the NQC Work Plan.
The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that improved and timelier processes are in place for the development, review and endorsement of Training Packages; and to guide work on improving the design of Training Packages, qualifications and units of competency.
This includes ensuring the quality of processes leading to endorsement of Training Packages as well as initiatives relating to ensuring Training Packages are flexible and responsive to changing industry and client needs and workplace practices.
The Training Packages Standing Committee will:
- provide strong leadership and guidance at the national level to ensure the quality of processes leading to endorsement of Training Packages;
- provide strong leadership and guidance at the national level to ensure Training Packages are flexible and responsive to changing industry and client needs and workplace practices;
- give effect to, and expedite Council resolutions relating to Training Packages including those relating to implementing outcomes of the High Level Review of Training Packages Stocktake and ensuring that the processes for development and endorsement of quality Training Packages are timely and not over-engineered;
- provide strategic oversight and guidance to project work, including contractual requirements;
- establish, as necessary, and provide guidance to working groups set up to develop, trial and implement initiatives relating to Training Packages;
- plan and monitor resources to ensure they are adequate and appropriately targeted for successful implementation of Training Package related projects;
- provide advice to the NQC through progress reports and recommendations, including on Training Package policy, performance and improvement issues as appropriate.
